Original circa 1880 albumen photographic print taken of the model study for the Robert R. Randall monument completed in 1884 which is located on Staten Island, New York City. The study was modeled by American sculptor Augustus Saint-Gaudens (1848-1907) while in Paris. Reference information about the statue is documented in the book by John Dryfhout titled 'The Work of Augustus Saint-Gaudens'. This original photographic albumen print is mounted on the original stiff paperboard mount. The photographic image measures 7.5"h x 4.5"w on the 11"h x 9.25"w mount. In pencil on the mount is marked in error the name of the sculpture. |
