Original circa 1877 albumen photographic print taken of the center relief panel of the St. Thomas Church Reredos in New York City. The relief panel was developed and modeled by American sculptor Augustus Saint-Gaudens (1848-1907) while in Paris. A similar albumen photographic print is documented in the book by John Dryfhout titled 'The Work of Augustus Saint-Gaudens' together with a photograph of the completed Reredos and reference information about the Reredos and its development. This original photographic albumen print is mounted on the original stiff paperboard mount. Approximate image dimensions are 7.75"h x 4.5"w on an 11"h x 8.5"w mount. |
