NOTE BY LUCIUS DUBIGNON CLAY (1897-1978) who was a World War II General and who was serving on the Republican National Finance Committee when he wrote this note. In this note to Philip Sporn, Clay comments on the political atmosphere and how contributions to the Republican party will make a difference in Congress. The note was typed using black ink on white stationery with printed black 'REPUBLICAN NATIONAL FINANCE COMMITTEE' letterhead. The note is dated 'January 3, 1967' and is signed 'Lucius D. Clay' in black ink. Stationery dimensions are approximately 11"h x 8.5"w. The stationery is in fine condition with typical fold creases. There is a staple mark on the upper left corner as well as a stamped receipt date 'Jan 4 1967'. Philip Sporn (1896-1978) to whom this note was written served as President of the American Electric Power Corporation and wrote several books on energy including 'The Integrated Power System'.
